Founded in 1988, the Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. serves as part of the collective voice of African-American women living in Georgia. The Chapter boasts members who represent the corporate, civic, political and educational communities.

 

To achieve its target goals, the Coalition develops alliances with corporate and civic entities to build a base of consensus among other special interest groups and to serve as the eyes, ears and voice of African-American women.

 

Accomplishments over the past 21 years include:

• Mentoring over 300 young girls since 1990
• Giving over $550,000 in scholarships to over 220 young girls in metropolitan Atlanta.
• Hosting our annual Gourmet Gents event with 300+ Gents and Atlanta’s premier restaurants participating yearly (proceeds benefit our Teens on the Move program).
• Honoring over 100 Unsung Heroines at our annual Unsung Heroines benefiting our Empowering Women Program.
• Providing educational and workplace skills to over 100 women through our Adopt-a-Shelter program.

Our Mission

 

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women is an advocacy organization built to empower African- American women through greater access to education, political strength, business opportunities and civic responsibility.

 

Each member embraces the value of nurturing young women as they look toward brighter futures.The Coalition is committed to seeking solutions to critical issues in our community, and offers programs and services to enhance the self-sufficiency of African-American women. 

 

Our programming and special events are designed to:

 

  • Foster principles of equal rights and opportunities.
  • Increase awareness of the African-American culture.
  • Develop member potential for more effective leadership.
  • Take action on specific issues of local and national importance.
  • Build alliances with others who have shared objectives
